Stand with UNICEF and #childrenuprooted
Refugee children
Migrant children
Nearly 50 million children are on the move – 28 million of them driven from their homes by conflict, and millions more migrating in the hope of finding a better, safer life. Far too many children encounter deadly danger, detention, deprivation and discrimination.
Children on the move are the first to be affected by war, conflict, climate change and poverty. The last thing they need is to be labeled or mistreated.
Whether they are refugees, migrants, asylum seekers or displaced people, they are first and foremost children.
We know that Canadians care about these children. Responding to these children – at home and globally – is a shared responsibility since no one is untouched by the reach and force of the crises that drove these children from their homes. Through Canada’s humanitarian response in support of displaced children around the world, and through the work of communities and groups working together – or individual kind actions in our streets or schools, we can all do our part.
The world must stand up for these children. It is time to take action to stand with #childrenuprooted.
