Send help to Sudan now
The ongoing conflict in Sudan has put the lives of children and their families in danger. Millions have been forced to flee their homes making Sudan the largest child displacement crisis in the world.
Hunger, disease and the risk of famine are deepening and spreading across the country. Famine has already been confirmed in Al Fasher and Kadugli, with an increasing risk of it spreading to Um Baru and Kernoi. An estimated 4.2 million children are expected to suffer from acute malnutrition in 2026, including more than 825,000 severe cases—conditions that can be deadly without urgent treatment.
The conflict has also led to civilian infrastructure being decimated, leaving children and communities without essential services like safe water and basic healthcare. Over 33.7 million people, more than half children, are in urgent need of assistance.
UNICEF is advocating for a ceasefire to ensure that humanitarian workers can safely reach children and families with urgent health, nutrition, protection and education services.
Despite the immense challenges. UNICEF and our partners are in Sudan delivering lifesaving aid to Sudan’s children. But we can’t do it alone.
The scale of humanitarian need in Sudan continues to outpace available funding. In 2026, UNICEF requires CAD $1.34 billion to reach 7.9 million children, or just CAD $168 per child.
Without urgent support, funding constraints are forcing impossible choices—leaving some children without the lifesaving care they need. Please donate today.
