Help bring life-saving aid to children affected by Hurricane Melissa.
The lives of more than 700,000 children across the Caribbean have been impacted as Hurricane Melissa unleashed days of torrential rain, storm surges and catastrophic flooding. Infrastructure has been left broken, crops destroyed and essential services such as health and education have been disrupted.Infrastructure has been left broken, crops destroyed and essential services such as health and education have been disrupted.
UNICEF is on the ground, delivering pre-positioned supplies and leading emergency response efforts across the Caribbean. These are just a few examples of our ongoing efforts:
- In Jamaica, UNICEF is the lead on restoring access to safe water, promoting hygiene, supporting health and nutrition services.
- In Haiti, nutrition supplies are reaching health facilities to ensure care for children affected by the storm. Additional supplies including water purifiers, tents, water containers and more hygiene kits are on the way from UNICEF supply hubs.
But we can’t do it alone. As the damage is assessed, needs are growing by the hour, and urgent action is needed to prevent spread of waterborne diseases like cholera.
Your donation today will help us quickly deliver emergency aid, including:
