Help Children Affected by Hurricane Melissa Return to School
Hurricane Melissa has disrupted the education of nearly 477,000 children across the Caribbean. Schools have been damaged or closed, leaving children without safe spaces to learn, play and grow.
When education is disrupted, the impact on children’s learning, well-being and future opportunities can be profound. UNICEF is working with partners across the region to restore education as quickly as possible. But we can’t do it alone.
Your gift today can make a real difference by helping us:
- Rehabilitate damaged schools and classrooms
- Provide school kits, teaching materials and temporary learning spaces
- Support psychosocial recovery for children and teachers
- Ensure safe, inclusive and resilient environments for learning
Here’s what’s already happening thanks to supporters like you:
- In Haiti, we’ve delivered 2,800 school kits and are offering psychosocial support to children in affected communities.
- In Jamaica, we’re supplying teaching and learning materials and creating up to 100 temporary learning spaces to support around 10,000 children in the hardest-hit areas.
