Help bring life-saving aid to children in emergencies
During conflicts, natural disasters and disease outbreaks, children suffer first and suffer most. They can lose their home, school and loved ones. They become extremely vulnerable to disease, malnutrition and violence. When an emergency strikes, every minute counts.
Your donation to UNICEF’s Children’s Emergency Fund, helps ensure we can respond immediately to emergencies like the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and Uganda using pre‑positioned supplies and local teams to reach children fast.
The outbreak continues to spread, with suspected deaths and many more suspected cases. The World Health Organization has called the outbreak in DRC a Public Health Emergency of International Concern, making it a public health risk to neighbouring countries like South Sudan and Rwanda.
From the first moments of an emergency through recovery, your donation helps ensure children are not left waiting for help. Operating in over 190 countries and territories, UNICEF’s global network enables us to mobilize and deliver life‑saving supplies anywhere in the world, within 72 hours.
Your gift to UNICEF’s Children’s Emergency Fund could help provide children and families facing health emergencies with:
- Essential supplies, including personal protective equipment, vaccines, hygiene kits and tents to establish treatment centres.
- Information and tools to help communities prevent disease outbreaks.
- Expanded services for immunization and infection prevention.
