Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF), often in the form of the sweet-tasting Plumpy'Nut® paste, is a powerful innovation for treating severe acute malnutrition in children under age 5.
Packed with protein and essential vitamins and minerals, RUTF is easy to swallow and helps children regain weight, rebuild their strength and recover from life-threatening malnutrition. As many as 9 out of 10 children who receive RUTF recover—often within a few weeks.
A gift of $50 could provide a child with 36 packets of RUTF, enough for 12 days of therapeutic nutrition.
