Emergency in Nepal: Floods and Landslides Leave Children at Risk
Severe flooding struck Rasuwa District in northern Nepal on August 26, causing widespread damage to homes, roads, bridges and other critical infrastructure. The death toll continues to rise, with hundreds more people still missing. An estimated 17,000 children are in need of urgent humanitarian assistance.
Families have lost homes, livelihoods and access to essential services. For children, disasters can mean separation from loved ones and uncertainty about what comes next.

- Education supplies to help children continue learning
- Medical supplies, including tents, 1,533 bed nets and 1,459 newborn kits, to support the health needs of children and families.
- Nutrition supplies, including Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF) and micronutrient powder, to help prevent and treat malnutrition.
- Lifesaving water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) support for 1,000 households, including hygiene kits, water purification supplies and essential information materials.
