Afghanistan Emergency Response Fund

Afghanistan is one of the most dangerous places to be a child.

Afghan children and families are experiencing increasingly deteriorating living conditions since the Taliban seized power in August 2021. Decades of conflict have left systems on the brink of collapse and the country is experiencing one of the biggest humanitarian crises in the world today.

The situation continues to deteriorate due to prolonged conflict, chronic poverty, drought, a gender crisis and economic hardships, and children are the ones paying the price.

Afghanistan Earthquake Emergency Update

On October 7, 2023, a 6.3 magnitude earthquake, and several strong aftershocks, struck Western Afghanistan, devastating the lives of children and families already coping with multiple crises. Over 1,000 people have died, and over 1,600 people have been injured in the Zinda Jan district alone.

Your donation to the Afghanistan Emergency Fund will help rush urgent humanitarian aid to children and families in Afghanistan caught in the ongoing crisis and affected by the recent earthquake, providing:

  • Emergency shelter supplies, blankets and warm clothes
  • Treatment for severe acute malnutrition
  • Vaccination against measles
  • Safe water and sanitation supplies
  • Learning for out-of-school children
  • Support for frontline workers such as teachers and health care providers

Help send life-saving supplies to children and families in Afghanistan. Donate today.
