Afghanistan Emergency Response Fund
August marks one year since the Taliban seized power in Afghanistan. Decades of conflict have left systems on the brink of collapse and the country is experiencing one of the biggest humanitarian crises in the world today.
Afghanistan is one of the most dangerous places to be a child.
The situation continues to deteriorate due to prolonged conflict, chronic poverty and socioeconomic hardships, and children are paying a horrific price.
In the aftermath of the June 2022 earthquake, over 13 million children across the country urgently need humanitarian assistance to survive. Without urgent action, over one million children under 5 could become severely malnourished.
But you can help.
Your Afghanistan Emergency Fund donation now will help rush urgent humanitarian aid to children and families in Afghanistan caught in the ongoing crisis, providing:
- Treatment for severe acute malnutrition
- Vaccination against measles
- Safe water and sanitation supplies
- Learning for out-of-school children
- Support for frontline workers such as teachers and health care providers
